Votre Vu At-Home Facial Skincare System

I was sent a little sample-sized set of Votre Vu products to review, and when used in the proper order they were supposed to act as a mini at-home facial. I thought I’d share this with you guys:

This is how everything came, all nicely packaged in a little baggie with a cute little pink bow.

There were five steps to this routine, and Samantha (thanks Samantha!) was nice enough to label them all for me, so that the packets corresponded with the directions that she sent me:)

These were the directions she sent over. It basically says: “This sampling of our custom blended facial skincare regime should last you 3 to 4 days. The regime is numbered for easy reference. Remember, because of the concentrated and pure nature of our professional grade products, a little goes a long way with Votre Vu.”

I’ll tell you the specific directions within each step, as explained below.

Step 1: Apply our gentle cleanser to face, neck, and decollete. Massage into skin using circular, upward motions. Remove cleanser with warm water.

The cleanser was this very pretty blue color:)

Step 2: Moisten a cotton ball with tonic and apply to face, neck and decollete in gentle press-and-release motions.

Step 3: Apply a few drops of serum to finger tips and gently massage into skin. Use circular motions to apply from center of face out to edges. (Note: pin prick the serum packet to conserve). - I didn’t pin prick it, but I did put the rest of it into a little de-potting pot.

Step 4: Apply a small amount of face creme with fingertips and massage into skin until fully absorbed.

Step 5: With ring finger, softly pat eye gelee into skin around the eyes until absorbed.

I really did enjoy this regime, and I might consider purchasing the full-sizes and having a new skincare regime! :D

What did you guys think? Have you ever tried anything by Votre Vu?

Packaging: This has the prettiest packaging. It looks like a little black leather clutch. It’s very sleek and stylish.

Staying Power: These stayed all day for me with the use of a primer.

Details On Mine: Mine was a PR sample (though that in no way alters my opinion or this review). Mine is full-size and I will be doing many tutorials on this palette in the next month or two:) This definitely makes me want to try more of their eyeshadows. :)

Sephora Haul

There was a huge debacle between Sephora and me this month, but I still managed to get a few things. So, let’s see it:)

The first thing I got was this Tokidoki Airways palette ($42). I really do like this palette and I love how the eyeshadows are all named after different cities. The colors are all really pretty, I just don’t totally think it’s worth the $42 price tag. I do really like the packaging though, it’s a cute little mini-suitcase/lunchbox looking package:)

I also got Benefit’s Cabana Glama ($36), which I was super excited for. This comes with a mini hoola, a mini Posietint, a mini Some Kind-a Gorgeous and 3 eyeshadows. Benefit Cosmetics is one of my favorite brands, and I love all of the products that came with this set, and the packaging is so cute!

Next, I got the BareMinerals Mini Prime Time Face & Eye Brightening Duo ($18). I really like this, it comes with a mini Brightening face primer and a mini Brightening eye primer. I am excited to try these out, but I haven’t used them out yet.

The last thing that I got was the Sephora Collection Hot Hues Neon Lip Balm in Funky Fucshia ($10).  I really do like these colors, and these are being discontinued, so this was one of the only ones left, so I had to pick it up! :)

Last but not least, I got some samples and my 100-point perk (BB Cream).

Have you guys purchased anything at Sephora this month?

Review: Pixi by Petra Eye Bright Liner in No. 1 Nude.

This is the Pixi by Petra Eye Bright Liner in No. 1 Nude.

The Press Release says: “If you’re looking for the perfect eye accessory this summer, then look no further. Pixi’s Eye Bright Liner is your quick fix for tired eyes that need a pick-me-up. This miracle product can be used to line the lower rim to make eyes look bigger and brighter. Pair with a trendy eye look and instantly notice the eye enhancing difference. Similar to how nude pumps and sandals elongate your legs, nude eyeliners is a backstage beauty secret that will visually open your eyes. The waterproof, nude-pink colour enhances the intensity of eye white, giving the illusion of larger, brighter, more ‘awake’ eyes. Delivering a double duty punch, the Eye Bright Liner can also be used as a lip bow highlighter to create youthful, pouty, perfected lips. Enhanced with Olive Oil, Sunflower Oil, Cupuacu seed butter, and Echium Seed oil, the liner provides skin-treating, nourishing, moisturizing benefits. Suitable for the most sensitive eyes; hypoallergenic, paraben and mineral oil-free.”

The Website says: “Eye brightening liner designed to be used on lower inner rim of eyes for an instantly awake look. What it is formulated to do: This waterproof precision inner rim liner is designed to brighten the eyes and make the eye whites look whiter. Twist-up, non-sharpening precision point pen makes it easy to use and adds a brightening effect exactly where you want it. The nude flesh-toned colour enhances the whiteness of the eye white, giving the illusion of larger, more bright and awake eyes – your own little wakeup makeup secret! Hypoallergenic. Paraben-free. Mineral oil-free. Suitable for the most sensitive eyes. Beneficial ingredients and what they do: Sunflower seed oil soothes eyes & helps skin retain moisture.”

First Impressions: When I want to brighten up my eyes, I either use a specific eye brightening product (such as Benefit’s Eye Bright) or a white eyeliner. I was really excited when I found out that Pixi by Petra came out with a specific eyeliner to brighten your eyes. I thought it was a pretty cool idea, and the packaging is just like a regular eyeliner, which I like. I also like all of the different ways that you can use this.

Packaging: This is packaged just like a regular eye liner, which I really like because they are easy to store and very slim.

Color/Pigmentation: I have this in No. 1 Nude, which, when blended, is an exact match to my skin tone, with a brightening aspect to it.

Staying Power: This did seem to last all day, and I did notice it a bit more than my Benefit’s Eye Bright, in the way that my eyes did look slightly bigger and brighter.

Details On Mine: I received mine as a PR sample to review (though that in no way alter my opinions or this review). Mine is full-size, 0.012 OZ. I would definitely consider repurchasing this.

Price/Availability: This is available here, at Target.com and at Target stores nationwide for $17.00 USD.
